Whoa.
In many ways I'm both surprised and also not surprised at the same time. The larger tech platform companies (outside of AWS, Google, and Microsoft) have been buying up some of the more recent built-on-open-source incumbents (see e.g. Bun/Oven being acquired by Anthropic, uv acquired by OpenAI, etc) so this move kind of makes sense.
This I think mainly leaves Rivet as one of the only worker-like platforms/companies, I wonder if someone like Vercel will pick them up to bolster their offerings...
